See it first

A 3D simulation of your final straight teeth, generated and shown to you before treatment starts.

Discreet
Clear aligners that sit over your teeth, so most people will not notice you are wearing them.

Removable
Take them out to eat, drink, brush and clean between your teeth, then put them back in.

Checked every 4 to 8 weeks
We see you regularly to make sure your treatment stays on track.
IS THIS RIGHT FOR ME?
Crowded, crooked, gappy. All fixable.
SureSmile aligners are effective for many cases of:
-
Crowded teeth
-
Crooked teeth
-
Spaced or gappy teeth
-
Mildly rotated teet
Aligners suit many mild to moderate cases, and they are not the right answer for every case. At your consultation your dentist assesses your teeth and bite and tells you honestly whether SureSmile is the right route for you, or whether something else would serve you better.

YOUR CLEAR ALIGNER JOURNEY
Four stages from first chat to final smile.
01
Initial conversation
A brief conversation with our team about why SureSmile clear aligners could be the right treatment for you. No commitment, no pressure.
02
Clinical assessment
An in depth examination with digital photos, scans and a dental OPG, so we have a full picture of the health and position of your teeth. From that we generate a 3D simulation of your final straight teeth and present it to you, so you can see the result before you commit.
03
Aligner delivery
A clinical appointment to fit your first aligners and the small attachments, sometimes called composite blobs, that help your teeth move accurately. We then see you every 4 to 8 weeks to check your treatment is progressing well.
04
Completion
Your teeth reach their final position. Any additional treatment you have planned is carried out, and your teeth are then held in place with a combination of fixed and removable retainers.
Each set of aligners is worn for around 10 to 14 days before you move to the next set in the series.
WHAT IT IS ACTUALLY LIKE
They fit around your life, not the other way round.
Aligners work because you wear them. For the best results they should be worn 20 to 22 hours a day, and you take them out to eat, to drink anything other than water, and to brush and clean between your teeth. That is the honest trade off with clear aligners: they are invisible and removable, but the discipline is on you. Most patients find a rhythm within the first fortnight.
Expect mild pressure for a day or two each time you change to a new set of aligners. That is a normal sign your teeth are moving as planned, and it usually settles quickly.
HONEST PRICING
What straightening costs here.
The investment varies with how much movement your teeth need and how complex your case is, which is why we price it after your assessment rather than before. You will have a clear, itemised figure before anything starts.

IT IS NOT TOO LATE
Most of our aligner patients are adults.
Plenty of people reach their thirties, forties or further and finally decide to deal with the teeth that have bothered them since school, or find that teeth which were straightened years ago have drifted back. Clear aligners suit adults particularly well, because they are discreet enough to wear through work and meetings and removable for meals out. If you ruled out straightening years ago because you did not want a mouth full of metal in your twenties, the honest answer is that the option you were avoiding is not the only option any more.
AFTER YOUR ALIGNERS
Straight is often step one.
Home whitening, to brighten your newly straightened teeth
Composite or ceramic bonding, to reshape teet
Porcelain crowns, to reinforce weak teeth
Bridges or implants, to replace missing teeth
None of this is compulsory, and plenty of patients finish with aligners alone. We will show you what each option would actually change before you decide.
Once your teeth are in their final position, some patients want to go further. Straightening gets the alignment right, but it does not change the colour or shape of your teeth, so at the end of treatment we will talk through whether any of these would finish the job for you:

Frequently asked Questions?
1) How long does SureSmile treatment take?
Typically between 6 and 18 months, depending on how much movement your teeth need. Your dentist will give you a personalised plan and an estimated timescale when they present your 3D simulation, so you will know roughly how long your own treatment should take before you start.
2) How much do SureSmile aligners cost in Leeds?
Teeth straightening with aligners starts from £2,980 at Swinnow Dental. The exact investment depends on how much tooth movement is needed and the complexity of your case, so we confirm your figure after your assessment. Finance options are available to spread the cost.
3) What is the difference between SureSmile and Invisalign?
Both are clear aligner systems that straighten teeth using a series of custom made removable trays, and both are planned digitally. The practical difference for you is which system your dentist provides and plans with. At Swinnow Dental we provide SureSmile clear aligners, not Invisalign. If you have been researching Invisalign, the treatment experience with SureSmile will feel very familiar: digital scans, a 3D preview, a series of clear trays and regular reviews.
4) Can adults have clear aligners?
Yes, and most of our aligner patients are adults. Clear aligners are popular with adults precisely because they are discreet and removable, so they fit around work and everyday life.
5) How often do I need to wear my aligners?
For the best results, wear them 20 to 22 hours a day. Take them out to eat, to drink anything other than water, and to brush and clean between your teeth. Wearing them as instructed is what keeps your treatment on schedule.
6) Are clear aligners painful?
Most patients notice mild pressure for a day or two each time they change to a new set of aligners. That is a normal sign the treatment is working, and it usually settles quickly.
7) Will I need retainers afterwards?
Yes. Retainers are essential after any teeth straightening treatment, because teeth will drift back towards their old position without them. At the end of your treatment we hold your teeth in their new position with a combination of fixed and removable retainers.
8) Can clear aligners fix crowded or crooked teeth?
Yes. SureSmile aligners are effective for many cases of crowded, crooked, spaced or mildly rotated teeth. At your consultation your dentist will assess your smile and confirm whether aligners are the right option for you.
9) Are clear aligners better than braces?
Neither is better in every case. Clear aligners are a discreet, removable alternative to fixed braces and suit many mild to moderate cases, while some cases are better served by fixed treatment. Your dentist will recommend the most suitable option for your teeth rather than the one that happens to be fashionable.
