Sedation is a method of reducing your anxiety towards dental treatment using a drug. Midazolam is given, usually through the arm and helps to get you into a more relaxed state of mind. This then enables you to have the treatment you require. Our team will ensure you are safe and comfortable during the process.

Are you nervous patient and has your anxiety made it really difficult to have your dental needs met?
Our team has over 30 years of clinical experience managing patients with dental anxiety and making them feel at ease throughout their dental journey.
However for some, this may not be enough. At Swinnow Dental we are proud to offer Sedation services. It is a method of reducing your dental anxiety towards receiving dental treatment using a drug.
Your Sedation Journey
Initial Conversation
An enquiry can be raised with any member of our team and we will go through details to address any questions or queries you have.
Assessment
Our Sedationist, Sharon Jardine, will carry out an in depth assessment, measurements and determine your suitability for Sedation. She will go through the process and explain the benefits and receive a proposed plan.
Sedation Session
On the day of treatment, You will go through some checks and Sharon will administer the Midazolam in little doses to make sure you’re well sedated. The dentist will then be able to carry out the treatment you require whilst you’re all relaxed.
Aftercare
You will be escorted home after your session with your chaperone. Specific aftercare instructions will be given to your chaperone as you will recover from the sedative drug. That usually takes a few hours.
Your treatment is now complete.
